Animation Two /// Step Brothers

Onto animating the quote for Step Brothers,

"I DIDN'T WANT SALMON! I SAID IT FOUR TIMES!"

Keeping the same colour scheme and kind of imagery.

Here just a few screen shots of me making the animation, giving an idea to the layout of my assets within the composition and what not...

Here is the second video through different stages of development,

Saturday, 30 January 2010

The first kind of finished video, endings a bit dodgy, but something to deffo work and move forward with!

This time adding a song to the background, so when the quote finishes there isnt no sound.
I felt it ends abruptly though so i played around with the sound decibels and what not...

This is the final video for this quote for the time being, i want to create all 5 to this standard and then move on from there instead of just playing around with one trying ti improve everybit of it.

Animation 1 /// Blades of Glory

Some screen shots of me working on my first animation, keeping the movements fairly simple but effective,
... video to follow.

Ending Idents

The concept of my idents is that each one will be for one of the films showing in the movie season. So at the end of each film i want to have the logo and tell the audience when the show is on, designed...

Below, is an experimentation with the logo, taken from an ident of Comedy Central where the logo for the channel flickers throughout the ident.

Storyboards

Using the assets i have already crated as a basis to the idents, these storyboards give me and you an idea of the motion and animation with the words and imagery and also the various transition from the quote to the logo.

Semi-Pro Assets

I made two different styles within this, keeping in mind from the crits and feedback about more imagery and something else happening within the quote to liven it up a bit, Im not sure if i will use the sinking as a motion effect, i'll have a go making it on After Effects and just see how it looks.

Movie Season

Anchorman Assets

So i made two versions, one in Helvetica Bold and Impact, to see what looks better and to make the decision of my final typeface to use throughout my idents...

Impact...

Out of the two i really prefer Impact, its bold, in your face,  slightly condensed, which means i can make the type bigger and more in loud!

Digital Storyboard

During the crits one point came up that my designed logo was a strength out of my ideas and because of this it should be more of a focus point within the idents.
So i came up with a way that the logo could be the background to the whole ident and with using motion graphics change it so the logo is in full view...

The idea is for the quote to appear in the blue rectangle for the first 7ish seconds then as the quote ends the rectangle moves up as it shrinks, the 'will ferrell movie season' shows then shrinks with the rectangle to show the whole logo.

Here are a few experiments, playing with the blue border and the transition to the logo design...

Logo Typeface & Colour

Since looking at the relevant movie posters and imagery, i chose to use a colour scheme of White text, yellow subtext/imagery and blue back ground, thus making the idents appear to be in a set.
The reasons for doing so being due to a lot of the posters/imagery having this colour scheme. Aswell as colour schemes I've planned to either use Helvetica, Arial Black or Impact, so i re-made the logo...

Helvetica Neue Bold

Impact
Arial Black

The one i prefer would have to be impact, its bold, in your face and fits well in the rectangular shape of the logo.

Drawn Storyboards

From the crit i got some feedback about my lack of storyboards, so i went away and drew a few storyboards for my chosen quotes!
